Meet the Team

Peter Shaw

Managing Director

As Managing Director, I have brought together a fantastic team with extensive industry experience, all dedicated to guiding and supporting clients in finding the right PMI or related product tailored to their individual needs.

Personally, I have over 30 years’ experience in the healthcare sector and genuinely enjoy building long-term relationships with clients. I take great pride in visiting and advising clients on an ongoing basis, many of whom I have worked with for decades.

Outside of work, I enjoy theatre and musical theatre, concerts, dining out, and cinema. I’m a keen sports fan, with particular interests in football, rugby, snooker and T20 cricket, and I never say no to a good karaoke night.

I also make time to stay active, regularly attending the gym and taking part in spinning, Body Pump, Body Combat and Body Attack classes. I enjoy swimming (especially when on holiday) and recently returned to golf after a 30-year break. I’ve been fortunate to travel to some amazing destinations over the years and am always looking ahead to the next adventure.

I have three wonderful daughters and a new grand daughter and I value the many longstanding friendships I’ve built over the years, some for almost 55 years.

Anna Birks

Commercial Director

I have 35 years’ experience in financial client management, including 17 years in the health and protection sector. Providing a personal, bespoke service is what I enjoy most about my role at Gemini Health & Protection.

Our clients never have to navigate automated phone systems or wait on hold. They can contact me directly whenever they need to and speak straight away to someone who knows their policy and understands their business. It’s the kind of service I value as a customer myself, and something we’re proud to prioritise at Gemini.

I live on the edge of the Peak District with my partner in a wonderfully higgledy-piggledy 17th-century mill cottage by the river. Outside work I’m an enthusiastic amateur actress, have sailed around the world, and somehow ended up with far too many pets for an adult with no children!

Suzie Dixon

Senior Client Manager

I’m a Private Medical Insurance specialist with over 23 years’ experience helping a wide range of clients find the right cover for their needs. I’ve worked for insurers, as well as within a broker environment, giving me a well-rounded understanding of the process and how best to support my clients at every step.

My aim is to make things clear and straightforward, so clients feel confident they have the right cover in place, at the right price, with the right level of support.

Outside of work, I enjoy an active family life, from horse riding and cycling competitions to skiing and travelling.

Le-Anne Bradbury

Senior Group Protection Consultant

Like many, my working career first started while I was still at school.  Working weekends and holidays at my families Petrol Station and Garage, because of this, work was never just turn up, do the job and go home as being a family business the job came home with us.

On leaving school I decided not to join the family business but instead to join another family run business who were General Insurers Brokers and Financial Advisers.  First, I worked on the General Insurance side of the business and then moving on to Financial Advice.  It became clear that although experience and knowledge was invaluable within the industry, our true strengths were the relationship we built with our customers.

Throughout my career I have continued to put the clients first as I believe building strong working relationships with clients should be the basis of all businesses especial within Financial Services, Health and Protection businesses.  Something that seems to be forgotten in the large National Service providers.

Having worked in all aspect of Financial Services, I spent over a decade working primarily with corporate clients particularly around Employee Benefits and Protection.

When not working I like to garden and travel, as well as attend equine and music events.

Brian Draper

Senior Client Manager

I have over 25 years’ experience in the health and protection industry, looking after, and protecting the interests of our customers and clients. I am always seeking out the best possible terms, and going the extra mile, and thinking ‘ outside the box ‘ for our clients. If there is a solution to a problem …  we will find it.  You will find that here at Gemini, my Colleagues and I, will find the time for our customers, we will listen to them, and help, and assist them, in any way that we can. We aim to make a difference – and that difference is what sets us apart from the rest.

I love all sports – Football, Motor Racing, Rugby, Cricket, Cycling, Tiddlywinks, Camel Racing, and anything to do with a ball. I have a sharp sense of humour ( sorry ), and a passion for fast cars, classic cars, good food, home cooking, fine wine, and a good movie.

Anna Whittaker

With over 35 years' of experience in HR, the construction industry, and property, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a people-focused approach to my role as Client Manager. I’m passionate about building strong relationships and delivering excellent service, and I’m excited to contribute to an already fantastic, client-oriented team at Gemini Health and Protection.

Having previously been a client of Gemini, I’ve experienced first-hand the exceptional service that Peter and the team provide. I’m proud to now be part of a company that truly puts its clients at the heart of everything it does, and I’m committed to supporting and enhancing that standard.

Outside of work, I live with my partner, with whom I enjoy travelling the world, and I’m a proud mother to two amazing adult sons. In my spare time, I also enjoy cooking, live music, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Kate Booth

Office Administrator

I have many years’ experience of office management and administration which I bring to running the Gemini office, supporting the team and providing excellent service to our clients.

When I am not in the office I am busy with my brood, most often on a football side-line or cricket boundary. We also love a stomp around the peaks as a family. I have been learning Spanish for a year now and am looking forward to using it in a warmer climate soon!

Kim Siddall

I have many years of Project Management, Administrative and HR experience working across both the private, public and voluntary sectors. It is great to be part of a team that are genuinely passionate about what they do and the service they provide to their clients.

Outside of work I have a young sporty family which keeps me busy! I am a keen artist, with a love for music, animals, and the great outdoors.
